Bleecker Street got its start on September 16, 1996 at Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City. Paul Molitor of the Minnesota Twins became the 21st major league baseball player to reach the milestone of 3000 career hits, the first to do so with a triple.

I also acquired 87 of the I Was There certificates. These printed certificates with Paul Molitors signature were only given to the approximately 6000 fans in attendance. The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum has an original game day certificate and several tickets in their collection as artifacts. Upon returning home to Minneapolis, Minnesota, I purchased 175 commemorative edition Molitors milestone 3000 hits poster. Only 3000 were made by Minneapolis Star Tribune. Each have a print number. On April 23, 2004 I had a personal autograph signing with Paul Molitor at the Four Seasons Resort and Club in Dallas, Texas. This was the only private signing with Paul Molitor of 2004. Mr. Molitor autographed 169 posters and 400 game day tickets from his 3000th hit game. All of Bleecker Streets Paul Molitor memorabilia is of the finest quality framing and matting, created by Wayne Ebert, CPF, Ideal Picture Frame & Gallery, St. Paul, MN. This shop is located within one mile of Cretin High, where Paul Molitor played high school baseball (graduated 1974) before going on to play for the Minnesota Gophers (74-77) baseball team. In 1978, Paul Molitor started his Hall of Fame career with the Milwaukee Brewers (78-92) followed by winning a World Series and World Series MVP award with the Toronto Blue Jays (93-95). Paul Molitor returned home to the Minnesota Twins (96-98) where he collected his 3000th career hit.
